Why we started The Lunah Theory
The guide we wish we’d had
“What we needed most was someone to explain what was happening to us. Both of us.”
When perimenopause arrived for Michelle, it didn’t come with a warning or an instruction book. The broken sleep, the anxiety and the mood swings crept in so slowly that at first we put it down to stress. Dan was right there beside her, wanting to help and not knowing how. We were going through it together, but we were each figuring it out on our own.
Grounded Synergy grew out of what helped Michelle rest again. But the longer we talked about those years, the clearer one thing became. What we’d needed most at the start wasn’t a product. It was understanding. Plain words about what was going on in her body, what she could do about it tonight, and what Dan could say and do that would actually help.
That help was hard to find. There were medical leaflets that were hard to take in when you’re running on four hours’ sleep, and quick fixes that promised far too much. Almost nothing was written for the partner.
So we decided to make it ourselves. The Lunah Theory is the place we wish we had to go to when things got hard for us: one for the woman lying awake at 2am, and two for the partner lying beside her. Because menopause doesn’t only happen to her. It happens to the whole household, and nobody should have to work it out alone.
